When you use Fastback model 15xs or model 8, just put the document in the binding recess and press the BIND button. The display will indicate the correct size to use. With model 15xs, you can immediately insert the binderstrip. With model 8, push the OPEN button to unclamp the document, remove it and follow the binding procedures from start.

After you press PRINT, enter a book thickness that is less than 35. The printer will then suggest you print of front flap of the strip. Press Y and print the strip (if using Fastback 15xs, do not connect to the printer yet). Then insert the strip again and enter the correct book thickness to proceed printing the title on the spine (you can now connect the printer to the Fastback 15xs).

Don't do this if the bookspine is too thick for the front flap of the strip to show, or if it is too thin to fit your title. See more on PowisPrinter

FoilFast Printer

The following can prevent sheets from misfeeding:
1. Do not place more than 10 composition covers or one clear cover in the feeder.
2. Fan (separate) a stack of sheets before placing in the feeder to ensure they are not stuck together.
3. Use only one type of sheet at a time.
4. Make sure that the sheets are not curled or greasy.

The FoilFast cartridges come in the 7 following colors: gold, silver, red, blue, green, white and black. Try to match the colors of your design to the FoilFast colors, using the following guide:

Foil Color	AppColor
Gold	Yellow
Silver	Dark Gray
Red	Red
Blue	Blue
Green	Green. Make sure this is a darker green, as the FoilFast printer will interpret light green as Gold.
White	Light Gray. Do not use white; FoilFast will not recognize it as a valid color selection.
Black	Black

In Windows applications, Print Preview display the application color rather than the Foil color. Make a test print if you want to ensure that the correct Foil colors are used.

In order to use all 8 cartridges, do the following:
1. Load 6 color cartridges and the primer in the printer.
2.In the Print Properties dialog, select FoilFast Clearcover from the Media Type dropdown list. The 'Undercoat' option is automatically selected.
3. Select all cartridges, even the one you were not able to load the first time.
4. Click OK.
5. When all selected colors have been printed, you will be prompted to load the missing color.
6. Replace the primer cartridge with the remaining color cartridge. The printing will automatically be completed.

Yes, it is. Select the first (bottom) design to be printed. Then, in the Print Properties dialog, check the Overlay option. You will notice that after printing, the paper will stay in the printer and cannot be removed.
Next, select the second (top) design. This time, do not check the Overlay option. The printer will now release the sheet upon completion.

This option will print your design twice on the same sheet. Do this to improve the color quality, especially if you use a sheet with a rough surface.
If you don't know in advance how good quality would be on certain surfaces, you can always print it once and insert the sheet back in the printer for a second pass.

This is because the printer first treats the print area with the primer (first pass). Then it proceeds to print the colors in subsequent passes.

Click the Refresh button located in the Status window. The questions will change to 100%. Then proceed to print.
